Tallgrass Express String Band
This truly regional band celebrates ranch life on the tallgrass prairie, specializing in original music by rancher-songwriter Annie Wilson - named the “Flint Hills Balladeer” by the Kansas Dept of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism.
Their music takes listeners to a world of stunning landscapes, western romance and humor, skilled cowboys and spunky cowgirls, runaway horses, Indian buffalo hunts, and lovely prairie walks among native birds and grasses. With lyrical harmonies and classic fiddle and mandolin solos, their concerts also include many beloved western standards.
The band has recorded four CDs, including nearly 50 original songs. Founded in 2004, they have delivered hundreds of performances to satisfied audiences.
